I decided to try my hand at Eagle and get this off my breadboard.
I have used Sparkfun's breakout boards with this design. I feel that doing so will remove some variables from progressing on this project. I've never done a SMT soldering before, so this simplifies assembly. Once I get more experienced (In both Eagle and SMT soldering), I plan to redo this without the Sparkfun breakouts.
Doing a 1:1 prinout was extremely helpful. I was able to successfully lay all of my components out and everything looked acceptable. I caught an error on my breakout footprints of about 25mill which would have ruined my day.
Honestly I still have many questions about Eagle and the PCB layout process. The board isn't quite the way I want it, but if I insist on perfection I'm never going to order the stupid thing. We will see how this turned out in 3 weeks, I guess.
Helpful reading on GM862 Custom PCB & Schematic! I ave pleased to read the entirety of the post as mentioned above in detail. I am also used Sparkfun's breakout boards with this design as well. Thanks for the head up and keep posting things like this.
ReplyDeletewow! Nice blog but I found this information on crimpcircuit and in a detailed manner. People must visit it too. -
